Clarke County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. The sheriff, police department, court, or corrections agency that created a record must answer those questions.
Where to Ask for Records
Use the office that holds the record. The sheriff handles jail custody and booking records. The arresting police department handles its incident report. Courts control case filings and dispositions. The address and phone details below come from the Clarke research file and should be confirmed before a visit or mailing.

The official open-records instructions route sheriff requests and identify the current contact. Georgia's general response framework is not a promise that every complex request will be produced at once.
- For a booking sheet or intake photograph, give CCSO the name, booking date, MID, and police case number if known.
- For a police incident report, contact the arresting agency instead of assuming the jail holds the whole file.
- For current custody, use the official roster or call the jail, keeping the online publication delay in mind.
- For a court result, use the Clerk of Superior and State Courts and the county courts portal.
- For an urgent safety issue, call 911 rather than a records line.
Police and City Contacts
Clarke County has several arresting agencies. A city name does not always identify the custodian, so match the agency in the booking recap before sending a request.

State and Federal Lookups
Some records move outside county custody. A sentenced state prisoner belongs in the Georgia Department of Corrections search. Federal and immigration detention have separate locators and do not provide a general Clarke County mugshot answer.
- Georgia DOC Find an Offender covers people in GDC facilities and photographs only when available.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator covers federal custody and has no public mugshot field.
- ICE Online Detainee Locator covers immigration detention and cannot search people under 18.
- Athens-Clarke courts routes users to the court that holds a filed case and disposition.
A result marked released or not in custody is limited to that system. It does not prove release from every jail or agency.
